Here is the same WIP, but rotated so the yellowishness of the scan fell on a different area! Between the last update on the 'Tang Dynasty' and this one there have been some significant changes, or what Bob Ross would call 'happy accidents'. A good friend of mine, who is himself an artist, loaned me a few japanese watercolors that he had lying around. I decided to try one of the yellows on the fish in the background. I was not really happy with the color they were taking on, and the more I messed with them the worse they got. I was so impressed with by the test that I'll bedoing all of the tangs in that color of yellow! The other significant change is the blotch on the right side of the image. This happened during lunch at my favorite mexican restaurant [link] Normally I don't take my art out to lunch, but I found myself with some extra time on my hands, and I didn't have the kids with me, so I can't blame them for this one. Using Clayboard [link] as I do for all my originals allows me to do my art just about anywhere. Some places, however, are better than others. My Sakura pens [link] are water-proof, but to my dismay, are not salsa-proof. The Clayboard enhanced this effect, as well. With Clayboard, even if what ever medium you are using is dry, it is possible to scrap it off, or in the case of watercolors and ink, rewet it. No worries though, as this 'happy accident' is easily fixed, and those who do not know of it will never see it in the final piece. However, it did give me an idea for a little contest that I will be having. In another of my pieces there is a 'happy accident'. Those who would like a free print of one of the limited edition prints that I have available have to find that 'accident'. First person to email me with the correct piece and location of the 'accident' will win. If you guess the right piece of artwork, but can't tell me where the accident is, you will be told that your guess was wrong, even if half right. There is a handful of people who know of it's location, and these people are out of the running to make it fair for everyone. Good luck to you all. Also, I will be teaching a weekend seminar on drawing in October. It is called 'Drawing for the Inexperienced' and will be held at the Franciscan Life Process Center in Lowell: [link] . More information on that when it becomes available.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
